Turkish Airlines and THAI announce new Joint Business Agreement

Turkish Airlines and THAI Airways International (THAI) have expanded their partnership, with the signing of a Joint Business Agreement (JBA) covering flights between Thailand and Turkey.



Turkish Airlines and THAI Airways International (THAI)  have expanded their partnership, with the signing of a Joint Business Agreement (JBA) covering flights between Thailand and Turkey.


Signed during the recent International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Delhi, India, the new JBA will cover codeshare flights operated by the two Star Alliance member airlines between Bangkok and Istanbul during the winter 2025-2026 flight schedule.


“This agreement is the opportunity for both carriers in enhancing their route networks and exploring business opportunities which shall extend to their further routes in the future,” said Chai Eamsiri, CEO, THAI. “Under THAI’s ‘Network Airline’ strategy, passengers are conveniently connected to domestic destinations in Thailand as well as other destinations in Asia.”


Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Turkish Airlines added: “We are glad to enhance the existing cooperation between Turkish Airlines and THAI, as it marks a significant milestone to further develop the tourism potential between Türkiye and Thailand. This collaboration will provide seamless travel experiences, expand connectivity between the two regions and offer guests more options through both airlines’ network.”


The announcement of the JBA follows the decision by the civil aviation authorities of Turkey and Thailand to increase the passenger flight frequencies between both countries up to 42 per week.


Both airlines operates a total of 27 weekly flights between Thailand and Turkey. Between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Istanbul, THAI operates one daily flight (7 weekly) while Turkish Airlines operates a total of 17 weekly flights. In addition, Turkish Airlines operates three weekly flights to the popular Thai resort destination of Phuket.
